Essential Beginner Lawn Care Tips

Who doesn’t want a beautiful lush lawn? But doesn’t it sometimes feel like no matter what you do, it just doesn’t work? Well The Lawn Care Nut has put together a great 5 step guide that they guarantee you will see results in 6 weeks time. Now this is just condensed version of their list, so I recommend you head over to You Tube to watch their complete video. I will add the link to their video at the end of this post.

Step 1 – Grass Type

First you will need to determine your grass type. This all depends on where you are located. If you are unsure check at your local nursery. They should be able to advise you on what grows in the area.

Step 2 – Measure Your Lawn

Take the time to measure your lawn by hand, rather then using an online tool. This will help later on when you are trying to determine how much fertilizer to use, how much weed killer will be required, etc.

Step 3 – Mowing Your Lawn

1. Set your blades at a high level

2. Use sharpened blades

3. Choose the correct frequency of cutting for your lawn type

4.Never remove more then 1/3 of the grass blade in one cutting

Step 4 – Fertilize

Yes, even if you are a beginner you should fertilize your lawn.

Step 5 – Spray Weeds

Depending on the type of weeds in your yard, will determine the type of weed killer you should use. Click here to receive a free guide on how to spray and control dandelions.
